My First Mother's Day

I had my first mother's day as a mother. Ryan did pretty good; I got CDs. This is a great gift for me seeing as I LOVE music. For me it is better than flowers and chocolate. They last much longer and keep calories off.
Quinn and I spent the morning driving back from our visit in Medford. I got my breakfast completely for free from the nice man at Dutch Bro.s and had many nice people at the rest area wish me a happy Mother's Day.
When we got home we had some time to rest, take a shower and then join the family for a nice steak dinner. I have no pictures because I was so tired and didn't feel like getting all spiffed up (Quinn and I had a long night and a very early morning), so no pictures.

This is by Trace Adkins one of my favorite singers, doesn't hurt that I think he is way hot too :).
But coming Home from my trip to Medford this weekend I heard this song and it just truly made me reflect how much I am like the daughter in this song. I feel such a connection.
I can remember starting to drive really early and thinking I just can't wait to have my own car and get out of this town. Not that I am saying I would want to go back to living in my home town, but I do miss the fun times of my youth. I miss the freinds filling the car and the parties and the dance concerts and well just sometimes I miss the back then times.
Then I got married. What really hit me in the song is the second verse. I can totaaly relate. When we first moved in I never would have thought how much I would miss our one bedroom little tiny apartment in good ol' Cambridge Court, but now I sometimes find myself crying over the loss of it and the times we had back then. I miss the connection to so many in our same living situation. All of us struggling to make it with work, school, and new marriages. Kaz and Ashlyn how I wish the time didn't go by so fast.
Now I come to present. . . I see my little baby boy and it totally shocks me every day how quickly he is developing. And I hear the song in my head:

Ranon Ufgood

That is who my son often reminds me of. He is the son of Willow in the movie "Willow". When he sits just right and loses his neck then smiles. What an elfin I have.
Ryan and I found Sunday that in order to get ready in time for church we had to carry him around in his sling. He loves to just chill. It is also best to get him ready last- that's why he has no clothes on.

Family

I love this onesie. Totally goes with the craziness of our family. During this past week Quinn met many more Family members for the first time. Grumpy, Uncle Sean, Uncle Rory, Aunt Sandy and Uncle Rod. It is so great to have such support and love. I can't wait until we get to go south and meet more of my side.

Going to the Falls

Quinn and I spent alot of time touring places with my parents during their visit. Ryan unfortunately/ Fortunately had to work. We drove to Washington to visit places for them to move to. Introduced them to the marvel of IKEA (love their restaurant and have found a new favorite cookie). Then we went to Multonomah Falls. Mom stayed in the car, but Dad, Quinn and I hiked half way to the top. Not bad for just having a baby six weeks ago! We plan on making it to the top when Dad comes back at the end of summer. Quinn spent the whole time a sleep, but we got some great shots. I think my Dad's camera was better though(it had HD vision).

Blessing Day

Quinn was given his Name and first father's blessing in church on April 27th. In the blessing circle were his Dad, both grandfathers, Uncle Sean, and Uncle Rory. We even got permission to have his Uncle Rahul hold the mic so he could be apart (he is still to young to actually be in the circle.
He got to wear a special outfit his Aunt Emily made, booties by his Aunty Karen and was wrapped in a blanket by his Great Grandma Ruth Elison. The pictures aren't that great, but we have more we'll get later.
Afterwards we had all the family present take pictures and then get together for a linner.

Meeting Grumpy

Quinn got to meet his Grumpy (Grandpa Blake) for the first time this past week. It was great to have my parents come up for his blessing day, especially thanks for the walks with Quinn and Ame to keep our house sane.
