Getting Creative for the Birthday Girls

Ace of Cakes watch out. Ok not really. I would like to think my talents compare but what can I say Duff and the Crew are the bomb.
Having watched the show continuously I got really excited to give it a try. So with the May Birthday celebration I took the job to make the cake. And here you go. Maybe soon I will find a class to give me better tips.
Well here is to those beautiful May blooming babes.

Poor Baby, Now your 2 Months

So this last week my beautiful boy made two months. So what does his mommy do to celebrate? She sends him off to get poked and prodded. After much debate and research we went for the vaccines and I must say I think he handled it really well. And to top it off he is healthy all around and sleeping through the night wonderfully.

In Memory. . . Thank you to our Soldiers

Last year I was able to join my Dad on the West Coast Thunder Ride and it will forever be in my memory. I am so blessed to have been born and raised in this wonderful country that has such dedicated and great people willing to risk their lives for my freedom. On the ride I was able to join many of these Veterans who are also bike riders and see them stand in salute to their fallen comrades, never before had I been so inspired.
This year I wasn't able to make it to the ride, but the bikers are still inspiring me. This weekend coming home from our night out we drove past the Harley Shop here. Normally they have a gorgeous, huge and brilliant American Flag. But this weekend they changed it to the MIA/ POW Flag. How I wished I had had a camera on me. The view was Amazing. Beautiful, pink and orange sunset on one side and dark gray thunder clouds on the other with the Flag blowing in the strong wind. Memorial Day. I am so glad I have this day to really focus and show my gratitude to those who give their lives for my protection. Thank You!
And Dad next year I really do hope to be there with you again.

Jumping, Jumping

So our little guy has joined the ranks of jumpers. After weeks of stating the need to put him in the Johnny Jumper I finally gave into my Father-in-Law. Quinn stood there for a good ten minutes. He did more spinning than jumping, but I don't doubt that within a few months he'll be taking after his cousin Jacob, backing up to jump off the ledge to swing and then bounce, like a baby bungy jumper.

My favorite picture

I know it makes him look like a baby chimp, but I can't help it this is one of my favorite pictures of my little guy. And now he is getting even better and holding himself up.

Blessings

So I finally got the pictures of Quinn in his outfit figured out from the disc. He is so wonderful and I am grateful for all of the supportive mothers in our lives. It will be so nice to have the keepsakes of his blessing day; the outfit his Aunt Emily made, the Booties (not shown because he wouldn't keep them on) his Auntie Karen made and the beautiful blanket his Great-Grandma ELison crocheted for him. What a handsome, intelligent and strong Child of God I have been blessed with.

Lazy Days

The last several days have been very lazy for me. I swear if it wasn't for appointments I wouldn't even get out of my pj's. As it is I don't make it out of them until afternoon and Quinn has gone from one set to another. But I am proud to say I have gotten the bed made everyday, Ame has graduated from training class, and Ryan had an interview for a teaching job in Tualatin.

Sometimes you just need a break; now on to craft projects I hope to one day finish :)
