On the Road Again

So I couldn't let this summer go by without going out and visiting Ryan's Aunt Sandy and Uncle Rod in good ol' Baker City. It is the first time I have actually gotten to go out and spend time with them there; usually they are the break point for our trips UT to OR. I loved it! Truthfully after seeing the great people and fun sites I could diffintely see me living there- unfortunately my Hubby is too much of a city boy for it. Quinn was such a good baby and it was so fun to see these Vets cooing over my little guy. While there we went birdwatching, enjoyed fun visits at the local coffee shop- Mad Maddie's, toured the shops on Main Street, and then went through their very well done Museum built in the old Natatorium (this means the old swimming club- learn a new word all the time).

Boy Did Quinn Love his Uncle Rods face hair!

This little stinker had to make his mark on the church pew in the Museum, luckily his Aunt Sandy didn't mind helping out with all his little antics.

He knows where it counts.

This makes it look very fast paced, but it really wasn't. I loved going down every morning and hearing everyone visit and give lots of hugs. I am so glad they have such a great support group of friends there- what great people.

News update

Okay so my sister reminded me what a horrible poster I've been, I get so caught up in my adorable little boy I sometimes forget our stuff.
Ryan- He has been given a job as the Science Dept. for Wilsonville Art/Tech Highschool. I say the Dept. because that's it, just him. It is a charter school within the district that has 85 students. They have to apply to get in and follow a more European route by helping kids who pretty much already know what they want to do and works in a project based curriculum. He is very busy planning 13 different courses, but we are both VERY excited for the opportunity. The district is one of the best and has very good incentives. They do not have sports, so he can't coach, but with as busy as his first year will be we are okay with that. So when he does feel more stable he can always look at coaching league teams.
Me- I am pretty much waiting and watching. Waiting for my dad to come visit, waiting for September for me to go visit family on the East coast, waiting for fall and all the fun that brings (including Ryan's job with some $$), and waiting for my Kit to come in. Yes, that is right, I am now a Distributor for Slumber Parties. After two years of debating about I finally decided it would be a great thing for me to do to bring in extra $$ and help pay bills, but still get to be with my lil'guy. Speaking of whom I totally can't get enough of although he has started figuring out how to make verbal sounds and change his tone, he overall is still a really happy guy.
Now we are off for more adventures and to get the fourth book of the Twilight series "Breaking Dawn", which if you haven't read you definitely need to find the time to.

And he is hooked!

I may be a bad mother for encouraging this, but I believe in doing things as a family and Ryan and I both love the movies and admittedly sometimes they are dark. Quinn has shown he is just like his parents. This week we went to the theatre and saw The Dark Knight and Ironman. He was hooked, no sleeping, no laying him down and he certainly did not want to leave the room; man he was all eyes for the screen, although he did tend to think plot development was boring and could be laughed through. For him it is all about the explosions (Oh man what have I gotten into?!). He was very good and we got a very nice compliment from a lady in the theatre about how good he had been. Now I just have to remember to keep taking nature wallks and watch any fire producing materials around him.

Feed Me Seymore. . .

Food and drinks are the fascination. I know that most say to wait until six months but this kid just wants it now. We are still holding off really introducing anything as a meal to him, but I have to admit we let him sample sometimes. This is the time I was sitting on my mother-in-law's deck trying to enjoy a nice juciy plum when Mr. Quinn decided he need some too. Every time I would bring the plum to my mouth he would turn and suck on my cheek till I gave him some. So now ours is a "Little Shop of Horrors" because soon I will be losing my little baby and getting a little boy.

Berry Picking

I love this time of year. I love berry picking and baking and the jamming. Gathered the troop s and we went picking. Quinn slept pretty much the whole time which was nice because it allowed us to pick for awhile. Rahul brought his friends and Heather had her two girls. It was a ton of fun and the prices were great, plus there were chickens and sheep to entertain the little ones; although Heather lost most of her berries from Haddie feeding the chickens and then Had's decided to take a dirt bath, but that's part of the fun right? Can't wait for more-went today in fact.

One of those Mornings. . .

I had little sleep, hair all over the place, couldn't find any clothes and couldn't stand the idea of putting my hair in a ponytail for another day- what's a girl to do? Chop it I said and Shelly (the hairstylist I saw) said let's try this. So we did. I have never had my hair this short and am still trying to get use to it, but so far I think I like it. My Grams is probably turning in her grave.

Mad Maddie

So I haven't gotten a picture Yet!
But the great news is we got another girl. Friday morning my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Madeline Ruth Householder. I think this is how they are spelling it. She was 7.5 lbs and 19 in. with black hair.
I am so excited for Emily and her family they finally have even stevens 4 girls and 4 boys and after having 2 boys herself has gotten her little girl. I can't wait to see her in the fall.
Unfortunately Ryan has now decided if we have a girl she can't have an "M" name, but I love my little Mean Mena and I am sure I will adore my little Mad Maddie.
